Muyiwa Awoniyi, the longtime manager of Nigerian music star Omah Lay, has officially ended his professional relationship with the singer.

The announcement was made on Friday via Awoniyi’s X (formerly Twitter) account, where he shared a short but respectful message, hinting that the split was mutual and peaceful.

“With love and respect, I am no longer managing @Omah_Lay. That’s my brother and I wish him all the best in his endeavours for life!” he wrote.

Awoniyi has been instrumental in shaping Omah Lay’s rise in the music industry, helping to guide his career from breakout hits like “Bad Influence” to global recognition with “Soso”.

In addition to Omah Lay, Muyiwa currently manages Grammy-winning singer Tems, and has previously worked with Nonso Amadi, another Nigerian-Canadian talent.

While neither party has shared specific reasons for the split, fans have praised the mature and respectful way it was handled, with many expressing appreciation for Awoniyi’s role in Omah Lay’s success so far.

As both men move on to new chapters, supporters are hopeful for continued growth on both ends.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
