The Wife of the President, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed financial grants to 500 women in Abia State under her Renewed Hope Initiative Women Economic Empowerment Programme.

The initiative, launched in Umuahia on Friday, provided ₦50,000 each to women traders and small-scale business owners to help expand their businesses and boost community development.

Speaking on behalf of the First Lady, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, wife of the Abia State Governor, praised Mrs. Tinubu’s commitment to tackling poverty and unemployment among Nigerian women.

“This programme is not just about supporting businesses, it is about securing the future of families, educating children, and uplifting entire communities,” Mrs. Otti said.

She highlighted that empowering women with access to funds, skills, and tools for self-reliance will have a generational impact, transforming families and communities across Nigeria.

Mrs. Otti further appealed to women in Abia to support the President’s wife, noting that millions of families nationwide have already benefited from the Renewed Hope Initiative.

The beneficiaries, who expressed joy and gratitude, were urged to make good use of the funds to grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
