Family members, friends, colleagues and dignitaries gathered in Lagos on Friday for the funeral service of veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs.

The funeral mass was held at This Present House, Freedom Way, Lekki Phase I, with Jacobs’ widow, actress Joke Silva, and their sons, Olusoji and Olugbenga, in attendance.

Among the dignitaries at the service were Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, Lagos State First Lady Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu and former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Members of the entertainment industry also attended the service to pay their final respects to the actor, whose career spanned more than five decades across theatre, television and film.

Entertainment entrepreneur Dare Art Alade performed during the ceremony, while Olugbenga Jacobs presented his father’s biography as part of the funeral activities.

The funeral followed a Night of Tributes and Service of Songs held at Glover Memorial Hall in Lagos on Wednesday, where several Nollywood actors and other personalities celebrated Jacobs’ career and legacy.

Jacobs, whose full name was Oludotun Baiyewun Jacobs, died on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84.

Guests at Friday’s service were asked to wear green, while a private burial was expected to follow the funeral service.
