OKPEBHOLO APPOINTS TWO ADVISERS

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has appointed two Special Advisers as part of efforts to strengthen his administration’s engagement with traditional institutions and civil society groups.

The governor appointed Chief Emmanuel Iyase as Special Adviser on Traditional Matters for Edo South, while Emmanuel Sunday was named Special Adviser on Civil Society Organisations and Non-Governmental Organisations.

The appointments were contained in a Government Special Announcement dated September 3, 2026, and signed by the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.

According to the state government, the new advisers are expected to use their experience and expertise to support the administration’s development agenda and improve its relationship with key stakeholders.

Iyase will focus on issues involving traditional institutions in Edo South, while Sunday will be responsible for engagement with civil society organisations and non-governmental organisations.

The government said the appointments took immediate effect.

The latest appointments are part of Okpebholo’s broader efforts to strengthen his administration by assigning officials to areas considered important to governance and stakeholder engagement.
