OKORONKWO CONFIDENT SUPER FALCONS WILL OVERCOME BOTSWANA AT WAFCON 2024
Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo has assured fans that the Nigerian women’s team is ready to keep winning at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Okoronkwo, who was outstanding in Nigeria’s convincing 3-0 victory over Algeria on Sunday in Casablanca, says the team is determined to build on their momentum. The AFC Toronto striker made a big impact coming off the bench, setting up a goal and earning the Woman of the Match award for her efforts.
Speaking ahead of their next group game against Botswana today (Thursday), Okoronkwo highlighted the team’s focus and desire to keep improving.
“We only have to take the positives and fix what is needed to be fixed from the previous game. Go back, watch the videos, make some corrections, and keep working as a team,” she said.
A win against Botswana would see the Super Falcons book an early spot in the quarter-finals, moving them one step closer to another continental title.
With Okoronkwo’s confidence and the team’s growing chemistry, Nigerian fans have plenty of reasons to believe the Super Falcons will soar once again.
