OKONKWO RELEASES WHATSAPP CHATS, MAINTAINS BRIBERY ALLEGATION AGAINST OBI, NDC
The political disagreement involving actor-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has intensified after Okonkwo released WhatsApp conversations which he claims support his allegations.
Okonkwo insists that the chats back up his claims regarding alleged bribery involving Peter Obi and the National Democratic Coalition (NDC). He stated that the messages provide context to statements he had previously made and justify his position on the matter.
The release of the conversations comes amid an ongoing war of words between both camps, with Obi’s team having earlier rejected the allegations and demanded a public apology and financial compensation over what they described as defamatory remarks.
According to Okonkwo, the decision to make the chats public was aimed at defending his credibility and demonstrating that his claims were not fabricated.
However, supporters of Obi have questioned the interpretation of the messages and maintain that the allegations remain unproven.
The development has sparked fresh debate across political circles and social media, with observers closely watching how the dispute unfolds.
Legal analysts note that if the matter proceeds to court, the authenticity, context, and relevance of the WhatsApp messages could become key issues in determining the outcome of the case.
As both sides remain firm in their positions, the controversy continues to attract public attention and add another layer to Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
For now, the dispute remains unresolved, with both parties expected to continue defending their positions through legal and public channels.
