OIL MINISTER ASSURES INVESTORS OF STABLE ENERGY LAWS
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources has assured local and international investors of the stability and predictability of Nigeria’s energy laws as the country seeks to attract more capital into the oil and gas sector.
Speaking at a high-level investment forum, the minister emphasised that the government remains committed to maintaining a transparent and investor-friendly regulatory environment. He highlighted recent reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business and providing long-term certainty for investments in exploration, production, and midstream infrastructure.
The minister noted that stable energy laws are crucial for building confidence among investors and ensuring sustainable development of the sector. He also reiterated the government’s dedication to upholding contractual agreements and protecting the interests of genuine investors.
Stakeholders welcomed the assurance, describing it as timely and necessary for boosting investment inflows. They called for continued engagement with the private sector to address any emerging challenges and further strengthen the legal framework governing the industry.
The minister’s comments come as Nigeria intensifies efforts to increase oil production and maximise the benefits of its hydrocarbon resources through responsible investment.
