Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, has confirmed that Nigerian TikToker, known as Mirabel, has been admitted to a state-owned health facility and is receiving comprehensive medical attention.

Adeleye stated that an investigation into the incident has commenced, and the survivor is receiving psychosocial support while responding positively to treatment.

The commissioner made the disclosure on Thursday night after visiting the survivor at the facility, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and the Medical Director of the hospital. The visit was aimed at assessing the survivor’s condition and ensuring prompt medical and welfare interventions.

Adeleye commended the staff at the state medical facility and the Ministry of Justice for their swift response, as well as the Nigeria Police Force and Ogun State Police Command for their timely action once the case was transferred to the state.

“This structured approach is designed to protect the survivor’s welfare while ensuring the investigation is conducted professionally, thoroughly, and based on verifiable evidence,” Adeleye said.

She added that detailed examinations and necessary clinical procedures are being carried out according to established standards for handling alleged sexual assault cases, while the security agencies conduct their investigations simultaneously.

“The welfare, dignity, and safety of every survivor remain our utmost priority. The Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration maintains a zero-tolerance policy on sexual and gender-based violence. While we support survivors, we are equally committed to due process,” she emphasized.

The commissioner stressed that investigations must be evidence-based, transparent, and fair to all parties, adding that anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law. She also urged residents to avoid speculative narratives or sensational commentary that could compromise due process and assured the public that the state government is committed to ascertaining the truth.

Adeleye concluded by assuring that further updates will be shared when credible findings emerge from the ongoing investigations.
