OGUN POLICE PROBE ALLEGED RAPE CASE INVOLVING TIKTOKER MIRABEL
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that it has begun investigating the alleged sexual assault of Nigerian TikTok creator, Mirabel, known online as @mirab351.
The content creator shared a viral, emotional video claiming the assault occurred on Sunday, February 15, prompting widespread discussions across social media under the hashtag #StopRapingWomen.
The Lagos State Domestic Violence Agency (DSVA) later confirmed that the matter had been referred to Ogun State authorities for proper investigation.
Speaking on Wednesday, Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, stated that the Commissioner of Police instructed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Ibafo Division to immediately contact the victim.
Babaseyi explained that Mirabel had reported to Ibafo Police Station, where initial details were recorded. Preliminary investigations, however, indicated that the alleged assault occurred within the Ogijo jurisdiction. She was promptly taken to a hospital for urgent evaluation and care.
“After initial treatment, she was conveyed to Ogijo Police Station for proper documentation and continuation of investigative procedures,” he said.
He added that due to her vulnerable state, she has been referred for comprehensive medical care to support both her recovery and the ongoing investigation.
The Ogun State Police Command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the victim and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.
