OGUN PDP DEPUTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE EXPRESSES OPTIMISM AS INEC ADDRESSES ADEBUTU'S OMISSION
Party leadership remains confident in electoral commission's commitment to democratic fairness and technical resolution following administrative oversight on the official candidate list
The deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, has expressed strong optimism that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will rectify the omission of the party's governorship candidate, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, from the published candidate list.
Addressing party supporters and newsmen in Abeokuta, Akinlade assured members that the party's leadership had taken immediate administrative and legal steps to bring the oversight to the attention of the national electoral body.
He explained that the legal and administrative documentation submitted by the PDP fully complied with all statutory requirements, making the omission of Adebutu's name an administrative error that INEC is fully capable of resolving within its regulatory windows.
Akinlade reaffirmed the PDP's faith in the electoral commission's impartiality and technical capacity to correct errors promptly, urging party members across Ogun State's 20 local government areas to remain calm, focused, and dedicated to their grassroots mobilisation efforts.
He emphasized that the party's campaign structures remain fully operational and fully prepared for the upcoming gubernatorial election, expressing confidence that the final certified list will accurately reflect the party's legitimate candidates.
The PDP leadership reiterated its dedication to conducting a peaceful, issue-based campaign aimed at delivering accountable governance, economic revitalisation, and social welfare improvements across Ogun State.
