Tragedy struck in the Imode area of Ewekoro Local Government Area, Ogun State, as a man identified as Isiaka Kazeem slumped and died while trying to recover his seized motorcycle from a local community leader known as “Youngest Baale.”

According to police sources, the unfortunate incident occurred on July 24, days after the Baale allegedly confiscated Kazeem’s TVS motorcycle on July 20. Since then, the deceased had made several visits to plead for the release of his motorcycle, but all efforts proved fruitless.

After yet another failed attempt, Kazeem reportedly collapsed while heading home and died on the spot.

A resident of Omoboriowo Street in Ejio Town officially reported the incident to the police. Detectives who visited the scene could not locate the Baale, who had allegedly gone into hiding. The area was documented, and Kazeem’s body was taken to the State Hospital mortuary in Ifo for autopsy.

The Ogun State Police Command has now launched a manhunt for the fleeing Baale and is working to recover the motorcycle as part of the ongoing investigation.

Residents are calling for justice as the community mourns the sudden and avoidable death of Isiaka Kazeem.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
