A Magistrate’s Court in Sagamu, Ogun State, has remanded 29 suspects at the Isale Oko Correctional Centre over alleged assault, theft, and malicious damage.
The suspects were arraigned by the police following their arrest during a security raid tagged “Operation Keep Sagamu Safe.”
According to the Ogun State Police Command, the 29 individuals were selected after a screening exercise involving 146 initially arrested persons.
Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola said the suspects were charged with a five-count charge and pleaded not guilty.
The presiding magistrate, O.S. Somefun, granted each defendant bail set at ₦1 million with conditions but ordered their remand pending the fulfilment of those conditions.
The case has been adjourned until May 12, 2026, while authorities say the operation reflects ongoing efforts to maintain security and enforce due process in the area.
