OGOGO LAID TO REST IN ILARO AS NOLLYWOOD MOURNS VETERAN ACTOR
Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has been laid to rest in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, with family, friends and colleagues gathering to bid him a final farewell.
The actor was buried on Monday according to Islamic rites amid an emotional atmosphere, with several colleagues from the Yoruba film industry paying their last respects. Among those present were veteran actors Jide Kosoko, Yinka Quadri, Fathia Balogun, Fausat Balogun and Toyosi Adesanya.
Emotions ran high during the funeral as colleagues rendered emotional chants in honour of the late actor, who was widely regarded as one of the prominent figures in the Yoruba film industry.
Ogogo died on Sunday at the age of 66 after battling cancer. His daughter, Kira Taiwo, confirmed his death in a live video, where she broke down in tears while announcing the passing of her father.
