Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck, has opened up about a dark chapter in his life — his near-death experience with drug abuse and overdose.

The “Pity The Boy” hitmaker shared the story during an appearance on the Tea With Tay podcast, revealing that his struggles began while he was a student at the University of Lagos.

“I was a very bright student, but I was indulging in illicit drugs. One day, I took it and almost died. I had to call my mother to book a flight for me to return to Abuja. After that incident, I only took drugs once before quitting,” he said.

Odumodublvck expressed deep gratitude to God for helping him overcome addiction, stressing that many others were not so fortunate.

“There are some people who went into that life and didn’t make it out. Some didn’t survive, and some committed suicide because of an overdose. I’ve even seen a pregnant woman and her husband battling drug addiction. It’s really terrible,” he added.

The rapper used his personal story as a warning to young people, urging them to stay away from illicit substances and avoid falling into the trap of addiction.

His honesty has sparked conversations on social media, with many fans praising his courage for speaking up and using his platform to discourage drug abuse.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
