The wife of Delta-based content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, has defended her husband amid allegations surrounding the death of a 20-year-old woman, Favour Agbro.

The woman said her husband had an affair with Agbro but denied that he raped her, insisting that she continued to stand by him despite the controversy.

Speaking in a video shared on her husband’s social media page, she said she had been following developments surrounding the case and decided to speak after learning more about the circumstances.

She maintained that the allegations should not be determined through social media, stressing that the matter required proper investigation.

The Delta State Police Command had earlier arrested Ogbonna, 40, following allegations that he sexually assaulted Agbro after inviting her to Asaba under the guise of teaching her content creation.

According to the police, Agbro travelled to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after Ogbonna allegedly offered to train her on how to monetise her social media platforms.

The police said she later returned home distressed and narrated the alleged incident to her parents before recording a video about her experience.

The circumstances surrounding her subsequent death are also being investigated. Police said the arrest followed a petition submitted by the deceased’s family.

Ogbonna’s wife said she had been married to him for eight years and had four children with him. She maintained that regardless of what happened, she would continue to support her husband.

She also acknowledged that a young woman had died, saying this was why the matter should be handled carefully and through the appropriate legal process.

The police investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations against Ogbonna have not been established by a court.

The case has generated significant public attention, with calls for a thorough and transparent investigation into the allegations and the circumstances surrounding Agbro’s death.
