OBIDIENT MOVEMENT CLARIFIES PETER OBI’S ROLE IN ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Yunusa Tanko, has clarified that Peter Obi did not feature on the ballot during the recently concluded governorship election in Anambra State.

Tanko made this known on Monday while speaking as a guest on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier declared the incumbent governor, Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as the winner of the election.

Reacting to the outcome, Tanko explained that Obi only campaigned as a member of the Labour Party to support George Moghalu’s candidacy.

He stated, “Peter Obi campaigned on the platform of the Labour Party to give George Moghalu the opportunity to present himself to the people. The candidate supported by Peter Obi was not on the ballot, but Obi continues to enjoy massive support from his people.

“Seventeen years ago, Peter Obi contested against Soludo and former governor Chris Ngige and defeated them. I can confidently say that if Obi were on the ballot today against such individuals, he would still win.”

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
