NYSC WARNS AGAINST FAKE REDEPLOYMENT NOTICE CIRCULATING ONLINE
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has disowned a viral notice claiming that a special redeployment window has been opened for corps members.
The scheme described the notice as fake in a disclaimer posted on its verified X handle on Friday.
The fake message, titled "URGENT NOTICE: NYSC REDEPLOYMENT," claimed that corps members could apply for redeployment due to national security, health, and other concerns.
It also urged applicants to contact two phone numbers for assistance and submit documents to process their redeployment.
Reacting to the circulation, the NYSC Headquarters labelled the notice "FAKE NEWS" and warned corps members and the public not to be misled.
The scheme noted that it has not authorised any individual or agent to process redeployment requests through phone calls or unofficial channels.
NYSC reiterated that all deployment and redeployment matters are handled only through its official portal and designated offices.
The agency also urged corps members and members of the public to verify any NYSC-related information through its official website and verified social media platforms before taking any action or making payments.
The scheme added that fraudsters have repeatedly used fake redeployment notices to deceive and extort unsuspecting corps members and their families.
