NWUCHE CALLS FOR WOMEN’S PARTICIPATION IN 2027 CAMPAIGNS
Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, has called on women in Rivers State to increase their participation in political mobilisation and voter sensitisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Nwuche made the call during the Tinubu/Shettima 2027 Grassroots Mobilisation and Voter’s Sensitisation programme, themed “My PVC, My Power,” held in Port Harcourt.
He said women play important roles in political mobilisation, voter education and community engagement, urging them to use their networks and organisational capacity to participate in the electoral process.
Nwuche also urged the women to engage their communities and support voter awareness initiatives as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections intensify.
The former deputy speaker was represented at the event by Ajugo Kingdom. He said grassroots engagement remained important to political organisations and encouraged participants to approach their activities with discipline and integrity.
The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress also reaffirmed its support for the Rainbow Coalition, a political platform associated with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
State APC Chairman, Tony Okocha, said the party would continue its mobilisation efforts in support of the coalition and President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The event focused on encouraging greater grassroots participation as parties and political groups prepare for the next general elections.
