The Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 900 officers across key locations in the state to ensure a safe and peaceful Eid-el-Adha celebration.

The deployment is part of the Command's proactive security measures to prevent any form of disruption during the festivities. It is in line with the NSCDC’s mandate to safeguard lives and property.

According to the State Commandant, Jibrin Idris, the security arrangement—outlined in Operational Order No. 5/2025—directs Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Tactical Unit Heads, and Sector Commanders to intensify security around Eid prayer grounds, critical infrastructure, and other sensitive areas.

The main objectives of the deployment include the protection of citizens and visitors, securing public and private assets, maintaining law and order, and ensuring the safety of worshippers throughout the Sallah period.

Commandant Idris extended warm Sallah greetings to all Muslims in the state, calling on the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest security agency.

In a statement issued by the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Saad, the Command reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality security services and maintaining peace across Gombe State. “We remain resolute in our mission to create a safe and secure environment for all,” the statement concluded.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
