The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has officially scheduled its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Monday, July 28, 2025, ahead of the upcoming 2025/2026 football season.

According to a letter signed by NPFL’s Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, the meeting will take place at the Abuja Continental Hotel (formerly known as Sheraton Hotel). All 20 participating clubs are expected to arrive in Abuja a day earlier, on Sunday, July 27, for the important gathering.

The AGM is a key event that will set the tone and direction for the new NPFL season, which is scheduled to kick off on Friday, August 22, 2025.

At the meeting, league officials and club representatives will discuss important matters such as fixtures, club licensing, player registration, broadcast rights, and new policies to ensure a smooth and competitive season.

The NPFL had earlier hinted at a July meeting without specifying the exact date or venue, but this announcement brings clarity as preparations for the new season begin in earnest.

Fans and stakeholders are now looking forward to what the 2025/26 season will bring, with hopes of improved organization, better officiating, and more thrilling football across the country.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
