NPFL: KANO PILLARS SUSPEND OGENYI, YARO YARO AFTER 2-1 LOSS TO BARAU FC
Kano Pillars have suspended their technical adviser, Evans Ogenyi, and chief coach, Ahmed Garba Yaro Yaro, following the team’s 2-1 defeat to Barau FC in a local derby on Sunday.
The decision was announced by the club’s management after the disappointing home loss at the Sani Abacha Stadium — Pillars’ fourth defeat in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The four-time NPFL champions have endured a mixed start to their campaign, managing only two wins and two draws alongside the four losses.
In the interim, former club captain and current assistant coach, Gambo Mohammed, has been appointed to take temporary charge of the team. He will be assisted by goalkeeping coach Suleiman Shuaibu and Garzali Muhammad.
Kano Pillars will aim to bounce back when they host Niger Tornadoes in their next NPFL fixture this weekend.
