NPF PENSIONS CONSIDERS DANGOTE REFINERY INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Nigeria Police Force Pensions Limited is considering investment opportunities in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals as it seeks to diversify its portfolio and maintain returns for police personnel and retirees.
The acting Managing Director of NPF Pensions, Muhammed Dutse, disclosed this in Abuja during activities marking the 2026 Customer Service Week.
Dutse said declining interest rates could reduce returns from traditional fixed-income investments and bank instruments, making alternative assets increasingly important to the pension fund manager.
He said the company was assessing opportunities in the Dangote refinery, the stock market, private equity, infrastructure funds and other alternative investments.
According to him, NPF Pensions would adopt a diversified strategy rather than rely heavily on returns from bank deposits.
The pension manager’s interest in the Dangote refinery comes amid growing attention to investment opportunities linked to the multibillion-dollar facility and efforts to broaden its ownership.
Dutse said changes in the Central Bank of Nigeria’s monetary policy stance could also affect investment yields available to pension fund administrators.
He added that infrastructure, private equity and the energy sector would form part of the fund’s broader investment strategy as it seeks to protect pension assets and generate competitive returns.
