NPA EXPECTS 41 VESSELS WITH PETROLEUM, FOOD, OTHERS AT LAGOS PORTS
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that 41 vessels carrying petroleum products, food supplies, and other goods are expected to arrive at Lagos ports between March 10 and March 16.
The disclosure was made on Tuesday through the authority’s daily Shipping Position report released to journalists in Lagos.
According to the NPA, the vessels are scheduled to berth at Apapa Port, Tin Can Island Port, and Lekki Deep Sea Port.
Seventeen of the vessels are expected to offload containers filled with assorted goods, while the remaining 24 ships will transport bulk commodities such as urea, crude oil, petrol, fresh fish, bitumen, crude palm oil, and gypsum.
The authority also reported that eight ships and tankers have already arrived and are currently waiting to berth in order to discharge petrol, general cargo, bulk urea, fertilisers, and containerised goods.
In addition, 22 vessels are presently offloading cargo at the three ports, including bulk wheat, salt, sugar, urea, gypsum, fresh fish, and various containerised items.
The NPA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining efficient port operations and ensuring the timely handling of cargo to support trade and commercial activities in the country.
