NPA EXPECTS 33 SHIPS LADEN WITH FUEL, FOOD AND OTHER CARGO AT LAGOS PORTS
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that 33 vessels transporting petroleum products, food items, and assorted cargoes are scheduled to arrive at major Lagos seaports.
According to the NPA, the ships are expected at Apapa Port, Tin Can Island Port, and Lekki Deep Sea Port between February 22 and February 27. Seventeen of the vessels will carry containerised cargo, while the remaining 16 are transporting bulk gas, diplomatic cargo, bulk urea, empty containers, crude oil, bulk clinker, and blended stock.
The authority also revealed that seven ships and tanker vessels have already arrived at the ports and are awaiting berthing approval. These vessels are loaded with aviation fuel, petrol, containers, and general cargo.
Port operations are ongoing, with 17 vessels currently offloading consignments at Tin Can Island, Apapa, and Lekki ports. The cargo being discharged includes bulk wheat, soya bean oil, bulk sugar, bulk urea, trucks, fresh fish, and containerised goods.
