NORTHERN CHRISTIAN GROUP CONDEMNS PLATEAU KILLINGS, CALLS FOR STRONGER ACTION

The Northern Christian Association has condemned the latest wave of killings in Plateau State, warning that Nigerians must not become accustomed to the loss of lives caused by recurring attacks. The group expressed concern over the continued violence in parts of the state and described the situation as a serious security and humanitarian issue requiring urgent attention from the authorities.

The association said repeated attacks and the resulting deaths should not be treated as normal occurrences, stressing that every life lost represents a family and community affected by violence. It called on the Federal Government and relevant security agencies to strengthen efforts to protect vulnerable communities and prevent further attacks, particularly in areas that have experienced repeated incidents.

The group also appealed for improved security intelligence and faster responses to threats in affected communities. It said security agencies should work more closely with residents and local leaders to identify potential threats before they develop into attacks. According to the association, sustained protection of communities would help restore confidence among residents who have continued to live with fear and uncertainty.

The Northern Christian Association further urged Nigerians to reject indifference towards killings regardless of where they occur or the identity of the victims. It said the continued loss of lives should generate a collective demand for accountability, effective security measures and justice for victims. The group also called for support for families and communities affected by the violence.

The association said Plateau State and other parts of northern Nigeria require sustained attention rather than temporary responses after each attack. It urged political leaders, religious organisations, traditional institutions and civil society groups to work together to promote peace and protect communities. The group maintained that Nigerians should continue to speak against violence and demand measures capable of preventing recurring attacks.
