NO REGRETS LEAVING CHELSEA – NICOLAS JACKSON SPEAKS AFTER BAYERN MOVE
Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson has opened up for the first time since swapping Chelsea for Bayern Munich on a season-long loan.
The 23-year-old joined the German champions after falling behind in manager Enzo Maresca’s pecking order at Stamford Bridge. His loan deal almost collapsed on deadline day following Liam Delap’s injury, but Bayern and Chelsea eventually struck a fresh agreement.
Speaking to TuttoSport, Jackson said he feels no regrets about leaving London for Germany.
“I was simply very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the world, to discover another league and other great players,” he said.
“At the same time, I was a little sad to leave Chelsea, my teammates, and the fans. Football is full of cycles. I respect Maresca, I learned a lot from him, he has his own ideas and style. I have no regrets, just gratitude for my time at Chelsea.”
Jackson is now focused on making an impact at Bayern Munich as he looks to establish himself among Europe’s elite strikers.
