NO ONE CAN DESTROY PDP, BAUCHI PARTY CHAIRMAN DECLARES
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Amos Faruk, has stated that the party is stronger than any individual who may attempt to undermine or destroy it, regardless of their position or influence.
Faruk expressed confidence that despite the challenges currently confronting the party, the PDP will emerge more united and stronger, positioning itself as a formidable contender in the 2027 general elections.
He made the statement on Friday while addressing party leaders from various wards in the local government area, along with supporters who accompanied a 2027 aspirant for the State House of Assembly seat, Ishaku Madaki, to the party secretariat in a show of solidarity.
According to Faruk, no single individual has the power to destroy the Peoples Democratic Party, emphasizing that the party has remained one of the most formidable political forces in Nigeria since the return to democratic governance in 1998.
He noted that despite periods of internal turbulence, the PDP has remained resilient and united, maintaining its core principles even as some members left the party and later returned.
Speaking on the party’s strength in Bogoro, Faruk said the PDP enjoys widespread support and boasts the largest membership and followership among political parties in the area. He added that the party remains admired and strongly backed by many residents of the local government.
The chairman also recalled that many party loyalists in the area have remained committed to the PDP since 1998 without defecting to other political platforms. He stressed that even during periods when the party was not in power, members remained steadfast and committed.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Faruk expressed optimism that the PDP would field candidates for various elective positions at the local, state, and national levels.
He reiterated that the party remains strong and well-positioned for victory, expressing confidence that its candidates will emerge successful at both state and federal levels.
Faruk encouraged all interested aspirants to openly declare their ambitions, assuring them that the party would ensure a transparent and fair process that allows the most qualified candidates to emerge in line with the wishes of the majority.
He added that political opportunities come at the right time and urged party members to work together to support the most capable aspirants for the development of Bogoro.
However, the chairman cautioned against engaging in politics of bitterness, violence, or thuggery, warning that any aspirant found promoting such conduct would not receive the party’s support, regardless of their status.
