NNPCL GIVES FRESH UPDATE ON PORT HARCOURT, WARRI, KADUNA REFINERIES
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has provided a new update on the ongoing rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries, reaffirming its commitment to getting them back to full operational capacity.
According to the Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Ojulari, the company is now moving into the next crucial stage — selecting technical partners and finalizing necessary agreements for the refineries’ repair and upgrade.
Ojulari shared the update via a statement on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, expressing optimism about the progress being made.
“We are filled with determination! We are looking ahead with optimism to ensure our refineries operate effectively,” he said. “We are dedicating significant time to a detailed review and are eager to implement our insights.”
The refineries have been shut down since May 2025 for technical assessments and structural reviews. Ojulari emphasized that the company remains focused on delivering sustainable solutions that will restore the refineries to efficient and profitable operation.
“What fuels our drive is the understanding that the prosperity of Nigerian states and the future success of Nigeria will always take precedence over any individual interests,” he added.
The NNPCL boss reiterated that the company’s vision goes beyond refinery repairs, aiming to position Nigeria as a strong player in the global energy sector through sustainability-driven transformation and technical innovation.
