The NNPC Limited/FIRST E&P Joint Venture has provided free healthcare services to residents of 11 host communities in Bayelsa State through its annual medical outreach programme.

The fourth edition of the initiative, which began on September 21, 2026, offered residents medical consultations, laboratory tests, eye and dental screenings, eye surgery, health education and other healthcare services.

The programme was organised in partnership with the KEFFESO Host Communities Development Trust and supported by doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, ophthalmologists, laboratory specialists and public health practitioners.

Residents identified with treatable eye conditions requiring surgery were enrolled in a dedicated programme at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa. The surgeries will be fully funded under the medical outreach initiative.

NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services Acting Chief Upstream Investment Officer, Olanrewaju Igandan, said the continued programme reflected the commitment of the joint venture partners to the wellbeing of communities within their area of operation.

FIRST E&P Executive Director, Corporate Services, Emmanuel Etomi, said the outreach formed part of the company’s broader investment in healthcare, education and economic empowerment in its host communities.

According to the company, the KEFFESO Medical Outreach has reached more than 10,000 people across the 11 communities over the past four years.

The participating communities include Koluama 1 and 2, Ezetu 1 and 2, Foropa, Fish Town, Ekeni, Sangana, Opu Okumbiri, Okumbiribeleu and Oginibiri.
