NLNG RECORDS 6,000 LNG CARGOES, GENERATES $150BN REVENUE FROM EXPORTS
Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited has announced that it has exported 6,000 liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes and generated about $150 billion in revenue, highlighting its contribution to Nigeria’s energy sector and economy.
The company said the milestone reflects decades of operations focused on processing and exporting Nigeria’s natural gas resources to global markets while supporting foreign exchange earnings and government revenue.
NLNG noted that its activities have helped position Nigeria as a major player in the global LNG market, with exports reaching customers across different regions. The company also highlighted its role in promoting gas utilisation, reducing waste from gas flaring, and supporting economic development.
Energy analysts said the achievement demonstrates the potential of Nigeria’s gas sector, which holds significant reserves but requires continued investment in infrastructure, policy stability, and improved market access.
Stakeholders said expanding LNG capacity could further boost Nigeria’s energy security, attract investment, and create more opportunities across the gas value chain.
NLNG reaffirmed its commitment to growing Nigeria’s gas industry through sustainable operations, increased global competitiveness, and partnerships that support the country’s economic growth.
