NINE KILLED IN FRESH PLATEAU ATTACKS

At least nine people, including a pastor, have been killed in separate attacks across Barkin Ladi, Riyom and neighbouring communities in Plateau State.

The attacks occurred between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Five of the victims were passengers travelling to Gana-Ropp in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area when they were attacked. Community leaders said the victims were labourers travelling to the area.

In another incident at Dorowa Babuje, two people, including a pastor, were killed while reportedly travelling to church on Sunday morning.

A woman was also killed at Baten Wereng in Riyom Local Government Area on Saturday night, while another person was killed at Ratyidi in Fan District.

Community leaders condemned the attacks and called on security agencies to strengthen their presence in the affected areas and identify those responsible.

The incidents have increased tension in the affected communities, with residents and local leaders appealing for improved security measures to prevent further attacks and protect residents.
