NIMC UPGRADES NIN PORTAL FOR NIGERIANS ABROAD — FASTER, SAFER, AND EASIER ENROLMENT
Good news for Nigerians living abroad — the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has just given its Diaspora National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment system a major upgrade.
In a statement released by its spokesperson, Kayode Adegoke, on Monday, NIMC said the new system is designed to make NIN registration for Nigerians in the diaspora smoother, more secure, and more efficient.
According to the Commission, the revamped platform will make it easier for Nigerians abroad to get enrolled without unnecessary delays or complications. As part of the upgrade, NIMC’s accredited Diaspora Front-End Partners (FEPs) have been trained to operate the new system effectively. These FEPs now have 48 hours to activate their licences and start offering services on the improved platform.
If you live abroad and need to enrol for your NIN, you can now visit any compliant FEP to get started. NIMC has also apologised for any inconvenience caused during the upgrade period and assured applicants that a dedicated team is on standby to resolve any issues quickly.
Meanwhile, NIN registration continues in all centres across Nigeria. If you’re in Nigeria, you can find your nearest enrolment centre via the official NIMC website (www.nimc.gov.ng).
For NIN holders, NIMC recommends downloading the NIMC NINAuth App from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store. The app allows you to verify your NIN instantly, control who can access your information, and enjoy faster authentication services.
This upgrade is part of NIMC’s ongoing push to make identity services for Nigerians — both at home and abroad — more accessible, secure, and user-friendly
