NIGERIANS CALL FOR NED NWOKO’S RESIGNATION AMID ONGOING MARITAL CONTROVERSY WITH REGINA DANIELS
Calls are growing for Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, to step down from his position in the National Assembly following the escalating public fallout with his estranged wife, Regina Daniels.
The controversy, which has dominated social media in recent weeks, intensified after the arrest of Regina’s brother, Sammy, allegedly linked to the couple’s ongoing dispute. Many Nigerians have since taken to various online platforms demanding that the senator resign to protect the integrity of the red chamber.
A social media user identified as Realgina Onu was among those who called for Nwoko’s resignation, urging that an independent investigation be conducted into the allegations of sexual coercion, unlawful detention, and substance abuse surrounding the saga.
She also appealed to the Nigerian Police Force, the Ministry of Justice, and human rights organizations to intervene and ensure transparency in the ongoing matter.
Meanwhile, an old video of Regina Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels, has resurfaced online, addressing past criticism about her daughter’s marriage to Nwoko. In the clip, she clarified that Regina was nearly 20 years old when she got married, not 17 as widely speculated.
“Regina was almost 20 when she married Ned,” Rita stated in the video, countering the narrative of underage marriage.
It will be recalled that Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko tied the knot traditionally on April 25, 2020, in Delta State.
Adding to the tension, Regina’s brother, Sweezzy, recently made a shocking claim about the death of Nwoko’s son, alleging that he died in the United Kingdom due to heart failure and seizures reportedly linked to excessive drug intake.
The ongoing scandal has sparked public outrage, with many Nigerians calling for accountability and urging Nwoko to temporarily step aside from his legislative duties pending a full investigation into the matter.
