The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of rising skit maker, Sanku Olaniyi, popularly known as Mrsankucomedy. He died at just 25 years old after being involved in a fatal car accident.

 

The tragic incident happened in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025. According to eyewitnesses, Sanku was in the vehicle with a friend when the crash occurred. Both were rushed to the hospital, but sadly, Sanku was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

 

Born in Nigeria, Sanku began his comedy journey in 2021 and rose to fame in 2024 when one of his freestyle comedy skits went viral, gaining over 70,000 views in just days. His unique storytelling, sharp humour, and relatable content quickly endeared him to thousands of fans across social media platforms.

 

Since news of his death broke, fans, fellow comedians, and influencers have flooded social media with tributes. Many have shared clips of his skits, along with heartfelt messages and prayers for his family.

 

Sanku’s untimely passing has cut short a promising career that was only just beginning to blossom. His loss is not only felt by his family and friends but also by Nigeria’s entertainment community, where his creative spark had already left a mark.
