Nigerian representative, Godwin Awaji-Iroso Abiodun, has won the Best Physique award at the preliminary stage of Mister Cosmopolitan 2025, held at the MBK Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.

Godwin, who recently claimed the Misters of Nigeria 2025 title and is now carrying the nation’s flag on the global stage, expressed his excitement on Facebook on Friday, writing: “Best physique Cosmopolitan 2025 all the way from PH to Thailand.”

Other winners at the prelims included a Filipino contestant who secured the Best National Costume award and a Thai participant who claimed Best Talent, while Godwin also earned recognition in the swimwear category.

The creative designer and former Mr Rivers State University 2023/2024 showcased Nigeria’s national costume titled “Omu Alabo – The Warlord”, inspired by King Agbanijike of Bille Kingdom in Rivers State. The attire symbolizes the heritage, resilience, and warrior spirit of the Niger Delta people.

A total of 18 contestants from different parts of the world competed in the preliminary event, each vying for a place in the semifinals of the upcoming grand finale.

The participants had earlier received their sashes at a welcome ceremony hosted at Divalux Resort & Spa in Bangkok, organized by the pageant’s founding committee led by Faiz Noh.

As of Friday, the top five fan-voted candidates were:

Shawn Lin Yu Hsiang – Taiwan (21.42%)

Khandy Noprian – Indonesia (19.20%)

Harsh D Peiris – Sri Lanka (17.51%)

Hanyoung Kim – Korea (11.56%)

Sandile Christo Gama – South Africa (9.96%)

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
