NIGERIAN HURDLER FAITH OSAMUYI SECURES ALABAMA UNIVERSITY MOVE
Reigning National Sports Festival champion in the women’s 100m hurdles, Faith Osamuyi, has joined the Alabama University Track and Field team.
She has been listed on the roster for the 2025/26 Track & Field and Cross Country season.
The 17-year-old will line up alongside her fellow Nigerians, Precious Nzeakor and Samuel Ogazi, ahead of the upcoming NCAA campaign.
Osamuyi has enjoyed an impressive 2025 season, improving her personal best on three occasions from 13.45s. She claimed her first National Sports Festival title in Abeokuta in May, finishing ahead of Grace Ayemola and the rest of the field.
She later lowered her time to 13.35s at the Znamensky Brothers Memorial meet in Moscow, Russia.
More recently, she secured third place at the Nigeria National Trials in Lagos, finishing behind Tobi Amusan and Adaobi Tabugbo, missing her personal best by just one millisecond. Osamuyi also represented Nigeria at the African Games in Ghana last year, where she narrowly missed out on a podium finish.
