Nigerian Enamelware Plc reduced its net loss significantly in the first quarter of 2026, with the company’s loss for the period narrowing to ₦37.51 million from ₦80.52 million recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.

The improvement represents a reduction of more than 53 per cent in the company’s quarterly loss, indicating stronger performance compared with the previous year.

Nigerian Enamelware, which manufactures and markets enamelware products in Nigeria, has faced financial pressures in recent years as higher production costs and other operating challenges affected profitability.

The latest results suggest that the company has made progress in reducing the scale of its losses, although it remained in negative territory during the quarter.

The company’s financial performance comes amid broader challenges facing manufacturers, including higher input costs, energy expenses, financing costs and pressure on consumer purchasing power.

Nigerian Enamelware has continued to focus on improving its operations and strengthening its financial position as it works to return the business to sustainable profitability.

The company’s ability to further reduce losses will depend on its capacity to improve revenue generation, manage production costs and maintain efficient operations.

The Q1 performance provides a more positive outlook compared with the previous year, when the company recorded a significantly larger loss.

Nigerian Enamelware is expected to continue pursuing measures aimed at improving operational efficiency and strengthening its balance sheet as it moves through the 2026 financial year.
