NIGERIAN-BRITISH BUSINESSMAN DIES AFTER PENIS ENLARGEMENT PROCEDURE IN THAILAND

A 43-year-old Nigerian-British businessman and social media influencer, Igho Ubiribo, has died after undergoing a penis enlargement procedure while on holiday in Thailand.

According to reports, a UK coroner ruled that the cosmetic procedure caused a fatal pulmonary embolism, a serious condition in which a blood vessel supplying the lungs becomes blocked.

Ubiribo, who was also known by the nicknames “Tiny,” “Denisi” and “Ego,” was reportedly on a luxury holiday in Bangkok with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, when he decided to undergo the procedure.

The procedure was reportedly carried out at an unnamed clinic in Thailand in March, where 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine were injected into his penis.

After the procedure, Ubiribo and his wife reportedly returned to their Marriott hotel and went for a massage.

During the massage, he complained of chest pain and subsequently lost consciousness twice before being taken by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital.

Evidence presented during an inquest at the Inner West London Coroners’ Court indicated that his wife informed doctors that he had recently undergone penis filler injections.

Doctors suspected that Ubiribo had suffered a pulmonary embolism and recommended a CT scan to investigate his condition.

However, he reportedly lost consciousness before the scan could be performed and was transferred to an intensive care unit, where medical staff carried out cardiopulmonary resuscitation for more than 100 minutes.

Ubiribo eventually died in the early hours of March 6.

A postmortem examination later conducted in the United Kingdom found cellular material in his lungs that was consistent with the hyaluronic acid used in the penis filler.

Pathologist John du Parcq told the inquest that the material found in Ubiribo’s lungs matched the substance used during the cosmetic procedure and was consistent with a pulmonary embolism.

The findings also reportedly matched those of an autopsy conducted in Thailand.

The coroner, Jean Harkin, subsequently concluded that Ubiribo died from a pulmonary embolism caused by the cosmetic procedure.

Ubiribo’s medical history was also presented during the inquest, with his London doctor stating that he had previously undergone joint surgery and had been described as pre-diabetic and suffering from gout.

However, the doctor reportedly said he had no other significant medical conditions that could explain his death.

Hyaluronic acid penis fillers are used as a non-surgical method of increasing penis girth, but medical professionals have warned that injectable fillers can result in serious complications.

The case has renewed concerns about the potential risks associated with cosmetic penis enlargement procedures involving injectable substances.

Beyond his business activities, Ubiribo was known for documenting his affluent lifestyle on social media and had about 185,000 followers on Instagram.

He reportedly owned a home in Los Angeles valued at about $1.1 million and an apartment in London worth approximately $600,000.

Ubiribo married his wife, fashion designer and socialite Danielle Simba Allen, in a lavish ceremony in Zimbabwe in 2022.

Following his death, he was buried in London in a gold coffin reportedly valued at more than $600,000.

Afrobeats star Davido was among those who attended the funeral. The singer, who was described as a childhood friend of Ubiribo, reportedly spoke at the ceremony and expressed shock over his death.

The coroner’s finding was based on evidence linking the material discovered in Ubiribo’s lungs to the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic procedure.
