Nigerian Army Boosts Strength With 6,195 New Combatants
The Nigerian Army is set to bolster its operational capacity by inducting 6,195 newly trained regular combatants.
These recruits, part of the 88 Regular Recruit Intake (88RRI), began their training at the Depot Nigerian Army in Zaria on January 13 and have now completed six months of intensive military instruction.
Out of the 6,450 candidates who initially began the program, 255 were unable to complete the training.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, will serve as the reviewing officer during the passing-out parade of the new soldiers, who are expected to significantly enhance the army’s manpower and operational readiness.
Following their graduation, the fresh combatants will be deployed to various operational theatres across the country to address ongoing security challenges. They will also receive additional specialized training tailored to their assigned roles and responsibilities. (NAN)
