NIGERIA VOLLEYBALL TEAM STEPS UP PREPARATIONS FOR AFRICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Nigeria’s senior men’s volleyball team have intensified preparations for the 2026 African Men’s Volleyball Championship scheduled to take place in Tunis, Tunisia.

The Nigerian side qualified for the continental competition and is now focused on improving its readiness ahead of the tournament, which is scheduled to run from September 13 to 27.

Captain Abdulquadri Jaiyeola played a key role in Nigeria’s qualification campaign as the team secured its place among the continent’s top volleyball sides.

With the championship approaching, the players and technical crew have increased their training sessions as they prepare to face some of Africa’s strongest teams.

The tournament will provide Nigeria with an opportunity to compete for continental honours and gain valuable international experience.

The team’s participation also marks an important step in the development of senior men’s volleyball in the country, with officials hoping the players can build on their recent progress.

The Nigerian delegation is expected to continue its final preparations before travelling to Tunisia for the championship.
