NIGERIA UNVEILS NEW 2025 PLAN TO FIGHT TERRORISM
The Nigerian government has introduced a new plan to fight terrorism. This plan focuses on better teamwork between security agencies and involving local communities to help stop attacks.
Major General Adamu Laka, the National Coordinator of the National Counter-Terrorism Centre, said the new strategy will help prevent terrorism and improve how Nigeria responds to threats.
“This plan brings everyone together—from government workers to regular people—to work as a team. It focuses on stopping attacks before they happen and making our communities safer,” Laka said.
The plan was created after talking with many groups, including government officials, community leaders, and international partners, to make sure it fits Nigeria’s needs.
Commodore Ahmad Madawaki, who helps design the plan, said it has two main parts: strong cooperation between government agencies and involving people in the community.
“Everyone has a role to play. We want people to trust each other and work together to fight terrorism. The plan also respects women’s rights and human rights,” Madawaki explained.
He added that Nigeria will keep working with other countries because terrorism is a worldwide problem.
The government will start using the new plan fully after some final checks and will involve state and local governments to help make it successful.
This new strategy shows Nigeria’s commitment to fighting terrorism by working together and involving everyone.
