Latest economic assessment places the country among the top ten most investable markets on the continent, buoyed by recent macroeconomic reforms and stronger growth metrics

Nigeria has climbed four places to secure the eighth position in the latest Bloomberg Economics Investment Risk-O-Meter, marking a notable milestone in the country's economic positioning.

The upward trajectory saw Nigeria successfully overtake four regional peers Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Namibia making it one of the most significant upward movers among the 19 African economies evaluated.

According to the report, the improved ranking is primarily driven by measurable enhancements across three core analytical pillars: economic strength, fiscal stability, and external vulnerability management.

Analysts attribute the positive shift to structural policy changes implemented since 2023, including the phased removal of fuel subsidies, foreign exchange market liberalization, and adjustments in power sector tariffs designed to stem systemic losses.

These reforms have correlated with a steady upward trend in real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, rising from previous multi-quarter averages to notable expansion levels in recent quarters.

While financial experts and market stakeholders have lauded the renewed investor confidence reflected in the risk-o-meter, fiscal analysts maintain that sustained structural discipline and aggressive domestic production remains vital to long-term economic resilience.
