NIGER PDP GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE MUHAMMAD NAMI VOWS TO RESTORE LIVELIHOOD AND DIGNITY OF RURAL WOMEN AFFECTED BY INSECURITY
Gubernatorial candidate outlines policy roadmap prioritizing security frameworks, economic empowerment, and resettlement initiatives to protect agrarian communities across the state
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State, Muhammad Nami, has pledged to implement targeted security measures and economic interventions aimed at restoring the livelihoods, safety, and dignity of rural women affected by banditry, armed violence, and displacement across the state.
In a statement commemorating the International Day of Rural Women, Nami stressed that sustainable state development remains unattainable while agrarian women are forced to abandon their homes and farmland to rely on humanitarian aid due to security threats.
The candidate called for a restructured security framework that prioritizes the protection of vulnerable rural communities, prevention of attacks on farming settlements, rescue of abducted persons, and safe return of displaced families to their ancestral lands.
Outlining his vision for inclusive governance, Nami detailed a policy framework that guarantees women unimpeded access to farmland, local markets, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions without fear of harassment, assault, or abduction.
Nami praised the resilience of rural women across Niger State whose labor sustains the agricultural economy, reassuring citizens that his administration will prioritize transparent monitoring of public resources to fund rural empowerment programs, resettlement packages, and micro-credit support for small-scale farmers and traders.
