NIGER CHRISTIAN WOMEN ADVOCATE BALANCED APPOINTMENTS

The Christian Women Association of Niger State has called on Governor Mohammed Umar Bago to ensure equitable representation of Christians in key government appointments.

In a statement issued on Tuesday after their quarterly meeting, the group urged the governor to address what they described as the marginalisation of Christians in the state’s political and administrative structure.

“While we appreciate the governor’s developmental efforts, we appeal for fairness and inclusivity. Balanced appointments will promote unity and give every segment of the state a sense of belonging,” the association stated.

The women emphasised that Christians constitute a significant portion of the state’s population and deserve fair representation in boards, commissions, and other strategic positions.

They warned that continued imbalance could breed resentment and hinder the state’s overall progress.

The group pledged continued prayers and support for the governor’s administration while hoping their concerns would be given prompt attention.

Governor Bago’s media team is yet to respond to the appeal, but sources indicate the administration remains committed to inclusive governance across religious and ethnic lines.
