Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr. has spoken out after being left out of Brazil’s squad for their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti omitted the 33-year-old Santos forward, explaining that Neymar had a “minor problem” he needed to sort out before returning to competitive action.

In what appeared to be a subtle response, Neymar shared a photo of himself working out in a gym on his Instagram story. Alongside the picture, he wrote:

“Success comes from desire, determination, and persistence in achieving a goal. Even if you don’t reach your target, those who seek and overcome obstacles will, at the very least, do admirable things.”

The post suggests Neymar is staying focused and motivated despite missing the squad selection.

Brazil, which has already secured its place at the 2026 World Cup, will face Chile on September 5 before travelling to Bolivia on September 10.

While Neymar’s absence raises eyebrows, fans will be watching closely to see if he returns to the squad later this year as he continues to work on his fitness and form.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
