The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has appealed to Nigerians to join the party in its quest to build a better nation.

The call was contained in a New Year statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Paul Mumeh, in Kano on Thursday.

In the message, Mark reflected on the challenges Nigerians faced in 2025, pointing to the rising cost of living, food prices, essential medications and transportation as major sources of hardship.

He criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government over what he described as the imposition of harsh taxes, warning that such policies could deepen despair among citizens.

Mark reaffirmed the ADC’s commitment to patriotism and people-centred leadership, urging Nigerians to put aside doubts and align with the party’s vision for national renewal.

Expressing confidence in the strength of the Nigerian people, he said a better country remains achievable.

According to him, although 2025 was a difficult year for many Nigerians, it also marked a turning point with the launch of a united opposition coalition under the ADC on July 2.

“Since the announcement of the coalition, we have been encouraged by the massive support and enthusiasm shown by ordinary Nigerians across the country,” he said.

“We do not claim to be perfect, but our sense of duty and determination to stand on the right side of history should never be in doubt.”

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
