The Senator representing Edo South, Neda Imasuen, has facilitated the construction of a new market in Amagba community, Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, as part of efforts to improve commercial activities in the area.

The project, being executed as a federal constituency intervention, will include 30 lock-up shops and 40 open stores.

Imasuen said the project was initiated in response to the rapid growth of the community and the difficulties residents face when travelling long distances to purchase basic goods.

He explained that establishing a functional market within Amagba would provide residents with easier access to essential commodities while creating more opportunities for traders.

The senator said the project was expected to have a wider economic impact as population and commercial activities in the community continue to increase.

He also announced plans to facilitate the construction of a police station in Amagba to improve access to security services for the community and neighbouring areas.

The project manager, Hassan Shugaba, assured residents that construction would be completed within a few months.

Community leaders welcomed the initiative, describing it as an important intervention that could help address some of the area’s infrastructure needs.
