President emphasizes that recent military deployment and infrastructure push bring troops closer to vulnerable areas

President Bola Tinubu has stated that the recent operationalization of new Nigerian Army formations across multiple states will significantly enhance the military's swiftness and decisiveness against security threats.

Making this known in a strategic update on the nation's security architecture, the President noted that the new deployments strategically position troops closer to vulnerable communities.

According to the administration, the newly operationalized formations cover key states including Zamfara, Kebbi, Oyo, and Osun, designed to shorten response times and dismantle criminal networks operating in hinterlands and border corridors.

Highlighting ongoing infrastructural upgrades, President Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government is also fast-tracking the construction of new military barracks and depots in Abuja, Ekiti, Ebonyi, and Kogi states, with facilities in Osun already completed.

The President emphasized that expanding operational reach must go hand in hand with bolstering personnel welfare, pointing out that recent increases in military pay are directly improving living conditions for servicemen, women, and their families.

Reaffirming his commitment as Commander-in-Chief, Tinubu assured that the government will continue providing the armed forces with the necessary resources, equipment, and institutional support required to safeguard national stability.
