NEVILLE WARNS MAN UTD: RASHFORD, GARNACHO MOVES COULD INFLUENCE MAINOO’S FUTURE
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has suggested that the departures of Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho could influence young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo to consider leaving Old Trafford.
Speaking on The Overlap, Neville expressed concern that Mainoo might feel left out as some of his close teammates move on to new challenges.
Rashford has already joined Barcelona on loan, while Garnacho is reportedly close to sealing a transfer to Chelsea. Neville believes these moves could have a knock-on effect on Mainoo, who is already unhappy with his limited Premier League minutes under manager Ruben Amorim this season.
“Kobbie Mainoo cannot leave,” Neville stressed. “If they are letting him go, they have to bring someone in. I don’t think the manager is half-having him. But Mainoo will be looking at Garnacho and Marcus, probably on WhatsApp, and thinking: I’m being left out here… I might need to get out, too.”
Mainoo, 20, has long been tipped as one of United’s brightest academy graduates, but frustrations over game time have already sparked speculation about his future — with reports even linking him to European giants like Real Madrid.
For Neville, the message is clear: United must convince Mainoo that his future is at Old Trafford before it’s too late.
