NESG UNVEILS PLATFORM FOR BUSINESSES TO MONITOR LEGISLATIVE BILLS
The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) has unveiled a platform to enable businesses to track legislative bills and monitor proposed laws that could affect their operations and the wider Nigerian economy.
The initiative is designed to improve access to legislative information, promote transparency and help private sector organisations understand policy changes before they become law.
Through the platform, businesses and other stakeholders can follow bills as they move through the legislative process, assess their potential implications and engage more effectively with policymakers.
The initiative comes amid growing calls for stronger collaboration between the government and the private sector in shaping policies that support economic growth, investment and job creation.
For businesses operating in Nigeria, legislative developments can influence taxation, trade, employment, investment, regulatory compliance and the cost of doing business. However, keeping track of bills across legislative chambers can be difficult, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises with limited resources for policy monitoring.
The NESG platform is expected to help bridge this information gap by making legislative developments more accessible and enabling businesses to identify proposed changes early enough to respond.
It could also strengthen evidence-based advocacy by giving industry associations and individual companies better information to support their recommendations during policy discussions.
Stakeholders have consistently emphasised the importance of predictable regulations and inclusive policymaking in creating a business environment that attracts investment and encourages enterprise development.
The platform represents an effort to strengthen private sector participation in Nigeria’s legislative process and improve understanding of how proposed laws may affect economic activity.
